DRIVER/LABORER I

The Town of Glocester seeks a qualified individual for the position of Driver/Laborer I. The position requires an individual to perform a variety of manual tasks to maintain and support the facilities and infrastructure of the Town. The position requires 24/7 availability for winter months and for any other emergencies that may develop. A Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire date is required. Dependability, a desire to learn to operate department equipment, and the ability to communicate courteously and professionally are qualities that will be important. This individual will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Applications will be accepted until April 26, 2024.

BUILDING & ZONING OFFICIAL

The Town of Glocester, RI, seeks a Building Official responsible for the supervision and enforcement of the state building code and local ordinances relating to buildings, zoning, trailers, campgrounds, minimum housing and other matters which come under the official’s jurisdiction pursuant to statute or ordinance.

Candidates must have at least five (5) years’ experience in construction, design, or related supervision, and be generally informed on the quality and strength of building materials, the accepted requirements of building construction, good practice in fire prevention, the accepted requirements regarding light and ventilation, the accepted requirements for safe exit facilities, and the equipment essential for the safety, comfort, and convenience of occupants.

The successful candidate should be state certified and possess an international code council (ICC) certification as a certified building official (CBO) or be a building official holding a current state certification issued prior to July 1, 2010.  Salary to $73,000 depending on experience.

PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICER

The Town of Glocester is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of probationary police officer. Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years of age, and possess a valid driver’s license. Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED certificate. Applicants must meet medical, physical and psychological standards and must pass an extensive background investigation.

Previous candidates must complete new applications.

TOWN OF GLOCESTER DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

The Town of Glocester is seeking a Director of Finance. The position is responsible for planning and administering the Town’s budget, and overseeing the Town’s Finance Office, including budgeting, accounting, payables, and payroll, as well as directing the offices of the Tax Assessor and the Tax Collector.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration and at least seven years of financial management experience, including at least four years at a supervisory level. Preference is given to candidates with experience in municipal government finance. The salary range is between $100,000 and $120,000 annually depending on experience and education.
